Ducks!!

A few days ago I meet my family at a local park area as they wanted me to take their family picture for Christmas cards. We all meet in the parking lot and proceeded to walk down by the pond. Well, the ducks saw us coming and came over to greet us. They walked right up to where we standing, maybe they wanted their picture taken too?? 🙂

It was really very cute and my granddaughter enjoyed it 🙂

Arnica    We all had a great time!! The little things and quality time is so important and means so much.

Tonight!!

Whew… I am really tired tonight, can hardly keep my eyes open! I wanted to at least post a little bit tonight as I have not had the chance to be on the blog in a few days. I spent the whole weekend Christmas shopping and doing decorations!! I am done with the shopping and finished decorating the tree this evening!! Working all week leaves little time or energy for doing much else so I am happy to have gotten this far!! Guess I just don’t have the same energy I use too.. getting old!! 😦

Only a few more days till the shortest day of the year!! I really hate that it gets dark so early, I think that is one of the reasons I get tired so early… Feels like 11pm when it is only 7p!! On the positive side of that the days will slowly start to get longer after the 21st… Wahoo :-). I think I’ve also gained a few pounds too!! With the weather changing and getting much colder comfort foods seems more irresistible and sweets are yummy!! Holidays… oh well, enjoy now and then back to eating healthy!! Think I’ll go grab one of those delicious  homemade cookies right now!! Cup of hot decaf and a chocolate chip cookie :-)!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic evening and a great tomorrow!! Stay healthy and live with passion and kindness….

Whitefish Pictures!!

Sorry it has taken so long to get these promised pictures up. I searched my personal picture file and really could not find any good pictures. I will have to go out and do that someday soon! In the mean time I have gotten some pictures off the internet.  The Whitefish ski mountain opened Saturday and winter season is in full swing. The Christmas lights are up, the local downtown shops are gearing up for the Christmas events and holiday shoppers and cheer is everywhere!!

First let me start off by showing you where I live. Way up there in the northwest, almost into Canada. You can see where the white sign is pointing too…

we are here

Here is our wonderful Big Mountain Ski Resort, all 3,000 acres. My daughter and her family are looking forward to this season, in fact they were up on the Mountain on Sunday to help celebrate the start of this season’s fun.

It truly is a beautiful area and I am blessed to be here. Maybe I will be able to snag some festive pictures as the days move closer to Christmas. I hope to get the time in somewhere?? For now, enjoy your day and live your life in the moment with passion, love and kindness :-).

An appropriate start ?

Today I think I will begin with a small post on Mom”s blog, So if you don’t mind clicking here: PurpleEleganceandLace and continuing reading there that would be wonderful… Thank you. 🙂

The Mountains!

Tomorrow is Thursday and we are expecting another snow storm. The skiers are rejoicing because the mountain’s opening day is this Saturday. Seems like this year has just passed so quickly! We have not been through a winter in the new house yet and now we have a garage!! Wohoo!!  It is absolutely fabulous not having to scrape frost or snow off the windows and the car starts so much easier… I am happy 🙂 At work, we are gearing up for the skiers. The hotel is usually completely booked and I am very busy. Skies, poles, lots of people and beer… let the good times roll!! It is party time!!!  The mountains of Montana are beautiful. There is such an unexplainable feeling about stepping out, looking up and gazing out over the land… where the mountains meet the sky. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! Whitefish has become quite the hot spot. Its downtown area is really cute with specialty shops and restaurants. There are parks and walking trails and plenty to do. There is a ski bus that picks up and drops off skiers downtown. It really is a great place to come and visit while enjoying all the area has to offer. Glacier National Park is only about 20 to 30 min away with all its trails and beauty of its own. I can see why people are attracted to this area. Gosh, the airport is only 15 min away, the train comes right into town and of course always your own car. My grandson is on the ski racing team so watching his races this year will be a big thing for me. It certainly is wonderful being next to family 🙂 Well, getting late and have to get up early so must say good night.

Have a great day tomorrow and remember to “live your life in the moment with passion, love and kindness”

NaBloPoMo Day 30 last day!

As I post for the last time for NaBloPoMo I thank all the fellow bloggers for reading, commenting and liking my posts :-). I also thank you for all the great variety of posts that I have read, commented on and liked. It really has been fun, entertaining and informative. I look forward to the continued blogging and reading of this wonderful community of new found adventures and friends!!

My next goals include my “Purple Elegance and Lace” blog for my Mom (purple elegance was already taken by someone so I added “and Lace”), My Sweet Bullie blog for Maggie Mae and my whatever posts for my Our life in the moment blog… I may also do a bit of the e-writing 101 for tips here and there :-). A bit of fun for me…

Now I am on my way to PurpleEleganceandLace to work on getting it up and published today! I will reblog here, to this blog, when it is published.

NaBloPoMo Day 27 Happy Thanksgiving!!

I would like to wish all my blogging friends and the blogging community a very happy Thanksgiving!!! Hope it was a good one for all!

I just got back from a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration at my daughters. Family and friends, plenty of great food and lots of fun!! I feel very blessed and very thankful :-). She lives way up on the mountain and the roads this year were slushy and a bit slippery but everyone made it. We are looking at a big storm and arctic air coming in for late tomorrow so again I feel very blessed to have had a great weather day for everyone to get around.

NaBloPoMo Day 25 Through my daughter’s eyes!!

As I sit here and think about writing a blog for my Mom, the one she never had the chance to write, I wonder if I can really do it?? It is so scary!! I wonder if I will be able to do justice to her writings? It is going to be a bit of a shaky road at first and probably not to many posts. I need to find her notes and sort through her writings… I am going to need time to do all this so it will definitely start out very slow. I will need patience. I guess the first thing I need to do is to start a new blog just for her. Purple was always her favorite color and she loved white lace so the blog will be “Purple Elegance” and the tag line will be “through my daughters eyes” . Wow, sounds good, but the material is going to have to back it up! It’s like looking at this wonderful appetizing plate of food that is presented in a beautiful display and decorative fashion but unless the taste backs it up the presentation will mean nothing!!  That is the scary part!!  Hum… must think a little more!!!

NaBloPoMo Day 24 , Writing 101

If you could zoom through space in the speed of light, what place would you go to right now? Choose a place to which you’d like to be transported if you could — and tell us the back- story. How does this specific location affect you?

So I go back in time to the summer of 2007. My Mom and I are in Kennebunk Maine. We live in Florida but Mom is not doing well and while she is still able I want to bring her back to her favorite place (the oceans of Maine). Her soul sings on the beaches of Maine as she walks in memory of all her whispers with the ocean! We are in this beautiful Inn by the Sea. Her room faces the cliffs. She can see and hear the mighty waves of the ocean as it sprays the cliffs with foam. Her eyes sparkle with delight and child like excitement as she curls up in a big chair by the bay window and watches. I see a tear, not of sadness, but of delight as she shares the gifts of the sea. No words can even attempt to describe the touch of that moment. Her joy, her thankfulness, her spirit… all she asks is to come back to the sea. Her dream of a house, by the Maine cliffs of the captivating sea have come true, if even for only a weekend. The beauty is everywhere and I am filled with a gratitude and love for my Mom that I will never forget.
